NICARAO S.A.: es una microempresa exportadora desde hace 12 a\u00f1os, acopia el 90% de la producci\u00f3n de coco del pa\u00eds. Fue la primera empresa en Nicaragua en abrir el mercado de coco hacia Italia, Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico. Cuenta con una red de 12 acopiadores y m\u00e1s de 300 productores de coco, cuya relaci\u00f3n comercial se ha consolidado en los 12 a\u00f1os que tiene de exportar coco seco.<\/em><\/p>\n

The company is located in the municipality of El Rama, South Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region of Nicaragua and its main objective is focused on the production, import, export, marketing and distribution of all types of fruits, legumes and vegetables, specializing in recent years in the collection and processing of dried coconut nuts which are exported to the United States and Italy and represent 71% of its exports.<\/p>\n

The company's beginnings were an initiative to market coconut production, which at the time had no market on Nicaragua's Caribbean Coast. To this end, the founders traveled to various communities and municipalities to meet with small-scale farmers who expressed that selling coconuts would be one of their few sources of income. Later, at a trade fair, they had the opportunity to showcase different coconut varieties as samples and seek international buyers, thus initiating sales and establishing contacts with foreign buyers. Over the years, the company has diversified its portfolio by collecting and marketing roots and tubers, coffee, cacao, and coconut byproducts.<\/p>\n
